1. Getting our membership employed.
Due to the corporate mindset of not hiring staff with no workplace experience (the chicken/egg conundrum), we have a problem to overcome. We need you to invest in our future, take the plunge and together we can succeed in building the next generation of developers.

2. Enhancing the skills of young I professionals.
The bulk of our members are previously disadvantaged young people that need mentorship. Knowledge comes from study, but wisdom and skill comes from experience. You have the experience, share it by mentoring a young person, we are the next generation.
Please volunteer to share your experience and knowledge with the YIPs at events.

3. Spread the program outside of Gauteng.
We are YIPS Africa, we have started the ball rolling in Gauteng and need industry support from outside Gauteng to enable the good to be spread far and wide.

4. Show Africa young interest.
From small beginnings we are growing and already have members from many countries outside the borders of South Africa. Granted, they are in South Africa at the moment but as soon as they have gained experience, the growth can be expanded over the borders.

5. Promote modern development methods.
We have learnt the modern methods, methods that will only be to your company’s advantage. We would like to share these with your staff while we draw on their experience.

6. Networking.
Due to the fact that YIPS is a not for profit organization and most of our members are unemployed or only on our first salaries, we do not have funds to do anything spectacular. A suggestion to companies is to invite and sponsor the YIPS to meet your employees, discuss your companies place in the industry and have a good time together. Only good can come from this. We have a great passion that is contagious.
